San Fernando St, San Jose, CA The Age of Orphans is Laleh's first novel in a trilogy that follows the lives of three generations of Kurdish men as they grapple with landlessness, migration and national identity. Laleh Khadivi was born in Iran in 1977. In 2002 she began to research the Kurds, particularly their fate in the southwestern region of Iran under the first Shah. Laleh has worked extensively as a documentary filmmaker, has taught at Emory University and won the 2008 Whiting writers award. Click here for map to event... |
