Event Date: Thursday, April 22, 2010, 7:00 pmLocation: Engineering Auditorium, San Jose State University, San Jose, CA "Mornings in Jenin" is a multi-generational story about a Palestinian family. It is a deeply human novel - a novel of history, identify, friendship, love, terrorism, surrender, courage, and hope. "Mornings in Jenin" forces us to take a fresh look at one of the defining conflicts of our times. Susan Abulhawa is a renowned academic advocate of Palestinian rights. She founded "Playgrounds for Palestine", an NGO that builds playgrounds in Palestine and UN refugee camps in Lebanon. "A heart-wrenching, powerfully written novel that could do for Palestine what 'The Kite Runner' did for Afghanistan." Click here for event flyer... |
